Exhibitions are a great way to grow your business, what more can any business owner ask for than a room of industry professionals and prospective customers? But for most businesses, it’s not as simple as just being there. In a room full of other businesses offering what you’re offering, you need to stand out in order to succeed. Selling your products and services in a saturated environment can be tricky, but there are a few quick and easy ways to get head start, and make your business stand out from the crowd.
1. Know your competitors
Exhibitions can be a good time to scope out your competitors. What branding are they using? Are they giving away free corporate gifts? Do they have personalised, branded uniforms? What are they doing differently to your business? You can then take this information and use it to improve what you do and how you do it.
2. Reward your prospective customers
Free corporate gifts are a great way to get customers over to your stand and keep them coming. Customers will see them on the stand, and the tell their friends, everyone likes getting something for nothing. You can even use them to get contact details, either by requiring customers leave their business card or sign up to your mailing list before they can get their free USB flash drive, or whatever it is you’re giving away.
3. Brand, brand, brand
It’s no good turning up to an exhibition and promoting your products and services if no one knows who you are. Brand everything you can, the stand, promotional gifts, uniforms, business cards, brochures, it should all scream the name, logo and design of your business. Don’t underestimate the power of branding, people will remember your company by its logo, colours or both. Take the opportunity to promote, strengthen and define your brand, you could run a blog or use social media to advertise your stand, or promote your slogans and USPs using the stand, corporate uniforms or promotional gifts.
